Safari Overview
A journey for those who see the world in frames, not just views.
This expedition is designed for photographers — from casual shooters to seasoned pros — seeking golden light, dramatic landscapes, and wildlife moments that tell a story. With Landmark Expeditions’ expert guides, you’ll be in the right place at the right time, every time.
Day 1: Nairobi → Amboseli – Elephants Under Kilimanjaro
Depart Nairobi at dawn for Amboseli National Park, arriving in time for a late-morning game drive with Kilimanjaro’s snowcap in view.
- Golden Hour Drive (4 PM): Capture herds of elephants crossing dusty plains, backlit by the sinking sun.
- Evening tip: Play with silhouettes of acacia trees against pastel skies.
Dinner & overnight in Amboseli.
Day 2: Amboseli – Morning Mist & Wildlife Portraits
- Sunrise Shoot (6 AM): Soft morning mist over marshes, reflections in shallow pools, and close-up portraits of Amboseli’s giants.
- Midday downtime to review and edit images.
- Late Afternoon Drive: Focus on predator tracking for action shots — cheetahs, lions, or hyenas at work.
Overnight in Amboseli.
DAY 3: From Kilimanjaro to the Misty Highlands (Amboseli – Aberdare)
After breakfast, leave the dusty plains of Amboseli behind and journey north into Kenya’s central highlands. Arrive in time for lunch at Aberdare Country Club or Outspan, followed by a transfer into the forested Aberdare National Park.
Spend the night at The Ark or Treetops—both perched beside floodlit waterholes where elephants, buffalos, and elusive forest creatures come to drink.
Dinner and overnight at The Ark, Treetops, or another cozy lodge in the Aberdare region
Day 4: Naivasha → Lake Nakuru – Colour & Contrast
Early transfer to Lake Nakuru National Park.
Morning light on flamingos (seasonal) and the striking white of rhinos against the lake’s blue.
Afternoon drive focusing on high-contrast shots of giraffes among yellow fever trees.
Overnight in Nakuru.
Day 5 – Maasai Mara: The Sky Belongs to You
This morning, rise before dawn for an unforgettable hot air balloon safari — drifting silently over the plains as the sun paints the horizon. Land to a champagne breakfast in the bush, then spend the afternoon at leisure or on a gentle game drive.
Day 6: Masai Mara – Dawn Drama & Departure
Pre-dawn Drive: The Mara comes alive in the first light — lions on the move, elephants glowing in the sunrise, and endless horizons.
Depart for Nairobi mid-morning, cameras full and memory cards richer than ever.
