Safari Overview
Where Wild Beauty Meets Adventure
From the rugged landscapes of Samburu to the pink shores of Lake Nakuru and the endless plains of the Masai Mara, this journey takes you deep into Kenya’s most iconic wildlife territories. Every stop is chosen for its rich wildlife and breathtaking scenery — all with Landmark Expeditions’ signature guiding and comfort.
Day 1: Nairobi → Samburu – Into the Northern Wild
Head north to Samburu National Reserve, a remote and untamed gem along the Ewaso Nyiro River. This semi-arid wilderness is home to Samburu’s “Special Five” — Grevy’s zebra, Beisa oryx, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, and gerenuk.
- Lunch overlooking the reserve.
- Afternoon Game Drive (4 PM) — golden light over acacia-dotted plains, predators on the move, and one of Africa’s most magical sunsets.
Dinner & overnight in Samburu.
Day 2: Samburu – A Predator’s Playground
- Dawn game drive in search of leopards draped on tree branches and lions emerging from the brush.
- Return for breakfast and spend the late morning at leisure, soaking in the stillness of Samburu.
- Optional cultural visit to a Samburu village for a glimpse into their rich traditions.
Overnight in Samburu.
Day 3: Samburu → Lake Nakuru – The Pink Jewel of the Rift
Journey south to Lake Nakuru National Park, famed for its rhino sanctuary and (seasonal) pink flamingo flocks.
- Afternoon game drive along the lake’s shores and wooded hills — keep an eye out for rhinos, Rothschild’s giraffes, and tree-climbing lions.
