Safari Overview
Set out on a captivating day trip to Lake Nakuru National Park, one of Kenya’s most picturesque and wildlife-rich parks, located in the heart of the Great Rift Valley. Famous for its shimmering alkaline lake and vibrant flocks of flamingos, Lake Nakuru also offers excellent game viewing opportunities. The park is a sanctuary for both black and white rhinos, and it’s one of the few places in Kenya where you’re likely to spot the elusive leopard, as well as lions, buffaloes, giraffes, and numerous antelope species.
This one-day safari is perfect for travelers looking to experience the beauty of Kenya’s wildlife and landscapes in a short but fulfilling excursion. With scenic drives, birdwatching, and big game sightings, your day at Lake Nakuru will be packed with unforgettable moments.
Day 1: Nairobi –Lake Nakuru
Depart from Nairobi for Lake Nakuru. Have a short stop at View Point to have a look at the Great Rift from an elevated position, then proceed to the bottom onto Lake Nakuru, arriving in time for a pre-lunch game drive. View Reticulated Giraffes, Waterbucks and Rhino’s before lunch at Lake Nakuru Lodge or Flamingo Hill Camp. Afternoon game viewing includes Lake Nakuru’s thousands of Flamingos striking down to feed on the Lake’s shores. Dinner and Overnight at the camp/lodge
Day 1 : Nairobi - Lake Nakuru National Park
Early morning departure from Nairobi at 0500 hrs. to Lake Nakuru national park. You’ll journey through farm land and on to the rift valley view point. Make a stop-over to admire the escapement and photo taking. Proceed to Lake Nakuru national park in the early hours of the morning. We shall commence our wildlife viewing after entry. Flamingos & other pelicans are abundant in this park. Other wildlife exists here including Lions, Zebras, Giraffe, Leopard and many more.
Lake Nakuru national park also hosts a Rhino Sanctuary. Both black and white Rhino are found here. So, Rhino spotting is guaranteed. Proceed to Baboon cliff to have a better panoramic view of this Rift Valley Lake. As you explore the Rhino sanctuary within Lake Nakuru, be sure to keep your cameras ready to capture unforgettable moments and memories. It’s not every day that you get to see such powerful creatures roaming freely in their natural environment. Take this opportunity to appreciate and respect these gentle giants, making your Lake Nakuru safari experience all the more meaningful.
Lunch will be served in one of the lake Nakuru lodges or luxury tented camp. Our return to Nairobi will be in the late afternoon to arrive early in the evening.
